Animals are not our whole lives, but they can make our lives whole. Just as we are affected every day by the environment, stress and diet, animals also must cope with the ever-increasing demands of life. Providing quality care for our furry friends is necessary for them to enjoy a long and healthy life. For this reason 4Life® has created an outstanding line of supplements that help promote superior animal health. Experts agree that for many animals, TF formulas provide your single best option for improving their nutritional status. Improved joint health and flexibility, more energy, healthier coats, stronger bones and improved immune strength—give your animal everything it deserves with TF Animal Health 4Life products.
One of the strongest forces in nature for transferring and ensuring good health, transfer factors have taken their place in the forefront of nutritional science. Simply stated, transfer factors are tiny molecules that transfer immunity information from one entity to another, such as between a mother and her infant who she breastfeeds.
“Transfer Factor, and Transfer Factor Plus: Transfer Factors are messenger molecules with intelligence, commonly known as cytokines. These small proteins act as the brains for the immune system. Transfer Factor performs three immune system functions. They identify infectious agents (programmed to quickly recognize hundreds of known pathogens) and instruct the immune system to produce antibodies (boosts immune defense). Unlike all other immune enhancing supplements on the market, Transfer Factor modulates and balances an overactive immune system (i.e. autoimmune diseases and allergies). Since the discovery of the basic properties of transfer factors in 1949, more than 3000 peer reviewed studies and papers have been completed establishing transferfactors’ efficacy and safety. Many of these documents can be found on Medline. Recently, immunology researchers discovered transfer factors (a non-species specific immune-rich protein) in bovine colostrums. Transfer factors, which are active immune agents, make up only a small fraction of bovine colostrums (1% concentration). 4-Life Research secured the exclusive license to extract transfer factors in their pure form, which makes 4-Life Research the sole commercial source of purified transfer factors. Only the purified form of transfer factors can be relied upon to deliver a sufficient dose necessary to elicit an effective immune response." Here is a list of the kinds of conditions that Dr. Slagle, other veterinarians and I have treated successfully with Transfer Factor and Transfer Factor Plus:
Various non-malignant, and malignant tumors: canine lipomas, canine/feline hepatic tumors, squamous cell carcinomas, equine melanomas, sarcoids, feline leukemia, feline and canine oral tumors, sebaceous cysts, and canine basal cell tumors. Viral/Bacterial conditions: upper/lower respiratory infections, canine/feline dermatoses, equine/bovine/porcine scours, equine septic arthritis, abscesses (including a life-threatening deep Clostridial abscess in a horse), Dry Land Distemper, Strangles, EPM. Other: Head-shaker syndrome, Periodic Ophthalmia, hives, and girth itch. COPD, Cushing’s Disease, Pre- or Para- Cushing’s Disease, Laminitis, Founder, reproductive dis-function.
The list goes on and on. When I started working with 4-Life products, there were no horse formulas. We used human capsules, both TF and TF Plus with huge success. When Dr. Joe Ramaekers, a world-renowned nutritionally oriented veterinarian, became involved with the company, he built the dog, cat, and equine formulations that we have found additionally useful.
I see Transfer Factor and Transfer Factor Plus as wonderful preventative for horses under stress for any reason, or horses subjected to the diseases they can be exposed to at barns, shows, and travel to other parts of the country. It is the first line of defense. If given early, the horse may completely eliminate the problem. Even if given later in the course of a disease process, many times it will significantly shorten the course of the disease.
